Hit List – consider this list for upgrading your prime time

Last week’s Life List piece generated quite the reaction here on this blog. I was so overwhelmed by the response, that it moved me to go deeper, looking further into how we can upgrade our life on an hourly/daily/monthly and annually basis. A little different from the Life List, the Hit List is a list compiled of what we could call, lifestyle habits – habits that we incorporate into our mindset/actions/life that enable and move us to living full out better in the prime time of our life.

My Hit List contains things I do on a daily basis that bring me to an overall higher level of living. These things are nothing but positive influences on my life, they push me, stress/stretch me in a good way, move me, help me grow and they always, ALWAYS keep me thinking. They’re things that become habits, habits that sculpt a better me. Some of these habits become habits for life – like eating clean and healthy and/or getting in some sort of physical activity on a daily basis. They become part of my lifestyle, part of my make up, part of who I am.

I won’t lie, not everything sticks. When you keep an open mind, and are always thinking, you’re surely bound to welcome new concepts, new ideas – some stick, some don’t. It’s keeping your eyes and mind open that enable you to bring into your life new opportunities and possibilities. I wouldn’t be half the person I am today if I did not remain open hearted – giving a sincere chance to new things and people that possibly could make my life more enriched. As Hit Lists go, this one here is a snapshot of what mine looks like – hopefully painting a clearer picture in your mind of what I’m actually talking about. Enjoy.

  • Eat clean/healthy foods at every meal every day
  • Exercise/physical activity of some sort every single day – not everyday is a trip to the YMCA, it could be a long walk in the neighborhood or inline skating or bike ride. Get out, get movin’
  • Read that new business book with buzz, or self help book that Oprah’s talking about – could start making you think/talk smarter with customers/industry folk or improve your outlook on life
  • Subscribe to a magazine that helps you grow – forget the daily newspaper feed, opt for something like Men’s Health or Success magazine
  • Listen to uplifting/positive/moving music – music that propels creativity as I write, music that ignites me early in the morning, music that fuels me in the gym
  • Smile – work this for the majority of your day and experience the power in doing so
  • Get out of your comfort zone at least once a day – try something, do something, experience something……NEW
  • Reach out each day – connect with someone new no matter how you do it
  • Learn – never stop being a student in every facet of life
  • Talk – what happened to good old communication and storytelling? Entertain, enlighten and enthuse all those around you
  • Love – more and more and more. Family, friends, your main squeeze and all those around you
  • Be real – be yourself and no one else. No matter what
  • Live like an entrepreneur – no matter if it means starting your own business or working for someone else. Mind your business like it’s YOUR business
  • Write – clears the mind, enlightens the soul and inspires all whom encounter it
  • Influence others – positively. Be a guide in growth
  • Always be hungry – from healthy food to wanting more for your life and the lives of those around you. Never get complacent with the status quo
