Hopefully none of you missed yesterday’s day devoted to the women who brought us into this world. Human beings that, without them, you wouldn’t be here right now reading this blog. Crazy no? Think about that. Your father played a VERY important roll in your creation, BUT, without your mother, you just would not be here right now/unable to experience every breath, every thought, failure, triumph, emotion, action, success. And so yesterday was the day in which we celebrated these brave women, for putting up with extra baggage for give or take 9 months. Men have it easy.
I thank the heavens above every day for my mother. Cause without her there is no me. And so yesterday my family and I shared and showed our love for our mothers.
Over Mother’s Day dinner last night, I could not help but keep thinking how proud a mother must be of her babies. How my mother must look at her two boys sitting at that dinner table with her and her family, and no matter what, she’s proud of them cause she brought them into this world. So why not make our mothers even more proud. Why not do things that are entirely unexpected. Why not give her something to glow about. Why not make her cry with joy and happiness. Make her understand/make her realize, that what she did/what she accomplished, was bring a successful, good human being into this world. She could never ask for a better Mother’s Day gift, or any other gift for that matter.
I know, for we are ALL guilty of this, that we take for granted our family, our friends, our precious time here on earth. Stop. Think. Feel. Realize that this time is the only time we will ever have to show those who brought us into this world how much we appreciate what they have done. What they sacrificed along the way and what they continue to give up in exchange to witness/experience their child be all they can be. Save the world for your mother, for your parents. Live the prime time of you life with meaning, with a mission to make a difference. No matter how small you think your act of good may be, an act of good is nevertheless a start, a stepping stone to making this world a better place. Your mother fortunately made that step, now go ahead and make her proud.
