Daydreamin’ – close your eyes and imagine

Why do daydreamers get scolded in school? Head in the clouds, out to lunch – says who? I daydream all the time. I read a book and drift off. In a meeting or at a conference, I’m listening, but most likely thinking and envisioning something bigger. I’m no space cadet, I’m simply someone who loves to dream, loves to think, imagine, moving that wheel inside my head. Its one of life’s most underrated pleasures – daydreamin’. Try it sometime.

A friend of mine who owns a very successful company, and who has truly lived a remarkable life, practices daydreamin’ everyday. It’s something he’s been doing all his life, something that has fueled and ignited many invaluable ideas/thoughts that have resulted in huge successes for both his business and his life. Close your eyes and imagine – imagine whatever it is you wish. The thoughts inside your head are yours. They are yours and they are precious – precious for they are the root of something, something that could become reality if you feed those thoughts often enough.

The world’s greatest innovators, people whom have created a life full of meaning, making a better difference in our world – were/are no doubt excellent daydreamers. People with the ability to, throughout their day, drift off occasionally and envision something bigger, something perhaps worth bringing to life. It happens all the time. God only knows what historic events were whipped up as someone special drifted off near 2pm – who knows what great inventions, creations and ideas were born as someone lost focus in class, which ultimately resulted in changing our lives for the better.

So daydream today – close your eyes and imagine. Imagine a world where what’s moving around in your head, becomes an important reality in ours.
