It’s all in your head and your ability to act – the brutal reality that what you have/don’t have, can/can’t do, is a direct result of your ability to move

I’m not going to beat the dead dog anymore here. We have all been bombarded immensely in regards to the power of thought and the importance of positive thinking – nothing new going on here. I want to however focus on the unfortunate truth that much of what we’re told/what we’ve read in regards to thinking the right thoughts, fails to mention the one key ingredient – action. The ability to move.

I try my very human best each and every day to think nothing but the right stuff – the healthy thoughts, ideas of integrity and so on. But I’m human, so I ain’t perfect. What truly propels me to greater deeds, is my ability to think positive, think and believe that I can do it AND then DO IT. Do something, anything, to get the ball rolling. I can be brutally honest with you that the only time I ever translated a great idea or thought into reality/something tangible, was when I made one single step in the direction towards that vision/goal. Nothing happened until I got off my butt.

And so goes my philosophy on making your dreams come true. You want to lose weight? Take some cash out of your savings and hire a personal trainer. The cash commitment will ensure you keep up your appointments. You want to get that business dream up and running? Write a business plan and present it to the bank for financial support. Once you’ve made those steps, how can you not have momentum and motivation on your side? You want to win a date with that sweet girl or guy you’ve been eyeing for the past month? Go up to them with nothing more to say than hello – the words that follow WILL follow, they always do, it’s the first word that the majority of the time, sadly never sees the light of day.

Act. Move. Its starts in your head, but lives through your actions. And that’s what living it all about. Thinking thoughts that help you grow, planting the seed and then feeding it. Without action, without feeding it, nothing great planted would ever survive nor flourish.
