What are you training for?

Some say they train to lose weight, others to stay in shape, many say its for optimal health and increased endurance and many more never admit that it is because of vanity. You know what, it doesn’t matter. As long as you have a goal in mind, some reason and motivating target, you’re better off than someone who cannot fathom why they purchased that gym membership or bought that new treadmill in the first place. Was it peer pressure? The feeling of guilt?

What do I train for? Many things. Many goals. But the ultimate reason that I train….because I LOVE it. The passion never ends, it just keeps growing. Its deep and its real. I train because nothing feels more rewarding than a hard workout early in the morning, followed by the feeling of physical exhaustion yet insanely increased mental energy all throughout your day. Its like you’re walking on air. Your mood elevates, you’re sharper more focused and you’re ready to go right back at it the very next day.

Physical activity becomes addictive. Once you get going and get past that start up phase, you’ll want more. Its not easy. Nothing worthwhile in life is easy – especially when it comes to improving and enhancing ones overall health, their greatest asset in their life. This all being said, what are you training for? If you do not know, sit down this weekend and think. Spend some time to carefully, seriously think about WHY you WANT to train and workout that body of yours. And then ASK yourself if you have the DESIRE and PASSION to make it all worth your while, achieving and accomplishing all the goals you are about to set forth and set out to make reality.
